Infrastructure Project Signage

Project signage is an important way to promote awareness of infrastructure projects taking place in communities across the province.

For projects funded under the Building Canada Fund and the Infrastructure Stimulus Fund in Ontario, recipients are responsible for the production and installation of project signage to recognize the governments of Canada and Ontario's financial contributions.

The federal and provincial governments have recently developed individual signage strategies to ensure that all programs, services and initiatives are visible, accessible and accountable to Canadians and Ontarians.

The recipient is responsible for the following:

  • The production and installation of a project sign recognizing the federal contribution.

  • The production and installation of a project sign recognizing the provincial contribution.

  • After signage is installed, please submit two photographs in JPEG format (one close-up and one distance shot) to bcfsignage@ontario.ca. When sending photos, please indicate the program and project number in the subject line of the email, as well as the photo file name.

  • Removing temporary signs within 90 days of project completion.

Federal and provincial project signs for projects already announced must be installed by September 1, 2009, with the rest of the signs installed as projects are announced.

If you have any specific questions regarding signage please contact the Canada-Ontario Infrastructure Joint Secretariat at 1-866-306-7827 or bcfsignage@ontario.ca or consult the Frequently Asked Questions section.
